Welcome
First Time Visitors
LeanLegal.US
provides a broad selection
of downloadable self-help legal forms for individuals,
families and small business. We also provide free
legal tutorials, step-by-step instructions for completing
the forms, and extensive legal resources which are designed
to help you understand the law and the legal system.
How
to Use the LeanLegal Site:
A
complete list of downloadable forms can be found in
the Forms Store. The column
to the right, which is featured on every page, also gives
a few examples from -- and links to -- the Forms Store.
The free tutorials (which explain the legal forms) and
the LeanLegal Encyclopedia (where
you can find straightforward answers to everyday legal
questions) can be found in the Lean
Law Library.
The
free tutorials
are required reading for the forms. For example, if
you want to do your own incorporation, it would be wise
to first read the tutorial on Small Business Legal Structure.
If you need a power of attorney but are unsure which
one, read the Power of Attorney tutorial before you
make your purchase. We have done our best to write the
tutorials in simple terms. Please keep in mind that
we are explaining legal forms drafted by lawyers, and
lawyers are people who write 10,000-word documents and
call them briefs!
Payment
can be made by MasterCard, Visa, American Express or
Discover. All credit card processing and approval is
provided by VeriSign and Internet Secure. ** Please
be assured that LeanLegal does not access or retain
your credit card number at any time or for any reason.
Once
you have selected a form for purchase, simply follow
the processing instructions provided by Internet Secure.
After your purchase has been approved, you will receive
an immediate confirmation from InternetSecure which
will include a user name and
password which you must use to gain access to your legal
document. Please print the confirmation,
scroll to the bottom of the confirmation page, and click
on "Continue to Download your Form."
You will then be prompted to insert
the user name and password, following which
you will be returned to the LeanLegal site and your
form will be available for downloading.
All
documents are downloaded in Rich Text Format (RTF) and
can be edited and printed right from your browser. However,
we suggest that you save your document to disk before
you edit.
All
documents contain highlighted text which describes the
information to be inserted. There are no fancy templates
to tab through or long "Read me" files. The
instructions are right on the form. Once you have read
the highlighted text, it can be deleted and the actual
data entered in normal text. The longer forms are more
complex, and we suggest that you save, print and review
them before you edit.
Other
Internet sites may ask you to submit personal or confidential
information so they can complete and process the form
for you. At LeanLegal, you enter your personal
data right on the form, and it stays on your computer
- not in someone's database or floating around on the
world wide web.
LeanLegal

**A
great deal of care has been taken to provide LeanLegal
customers with the highest degree of security for on-line,
real-time processing of credit cards. InternetSecure's
processing system resides behind a dedicated firewall
and uses SSL encryption for exchange of data between
you, the LeanLegal customer, and Internet Secure. Please
be assured that LeanLegal does not access or retain
your credit card number at any time or for any reason.
InternetSecure receives your credit card information
and, once received, the transaction is processed with
your bank over private digital lines, not back out over
the Internet.
